Kuwait Press Addresses Armenian Genocide Issue for First Time

PanARMENIAN.Net - Cilician Catholicos Aram I in Kuwait held a news conference in Kuwait, paying special attention to the issue of the Armenian Genocide. He said Turkey should officially recognize the Armenian Genocide. Turkey has responded to comments made Aram I, stating "there was no genocide" and "Turkish archives are open for study." Ankara response aroused interest of the local press. Kuwaiti leading newspapers interviewed the Cilician Catholicos.



Instead of finding courage to recognize the crime committed against Armenians by previous generations, Turkey makes steps for the opposite, the Pontiff remarked. Aram I provided information about the Armenian Genocide and thanked the Arab world for love, respect and friendly attitude towards Armenians. «Turks have committed a massacre against Armenians, while Arabs offered them bread and their fatherland,» the Catholicos said, reported the Yerkir newspaper.
