Turkey-EU: Ankara Crawfished

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey will open an airport and a port for Cyprus. "I can confirm that they (Turkey) send a message to Finland's Foreign Ministry, whish says, that they will open an airport and a port for Cyprus", declared the representative of Finland's Foreign Ministry, which currently holds EU's presidency. It is worth reminding that last week the European Commission offered partially to freeze the negotiations on Turkey's bid to the EU.

The recommendation touches on 8 of 35 technical issues, referring to the implementation of additional protocol on Customs Union and free transportation of products, services, capitals, fishing, agriculture, transport, customs and trade.

In early November the European Commission gave a month to Turkey for opening its ports for Cyprus- till EU summit, due to take place December 14-15.

For their part the Turkish authorities repeatedly declared that they will open their ports and airports for Cyprus only after the international recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, RIA Novosti reports.
