French presidential candidate against Armenian Genocide bill

PanARMENIAN.Net - "If I am elected, I will continue French national policy. And I am against the Armenian Genocide bill," presidential candidate of France and leader of Christian Democrats François Bayrou stated. Bayrou said, he does not think "the first law recognizing genocide is affirmative". "French president can say "I believe in genocide" representing the country. However, it is wrong to enact this as a law. Thousands of Armenians experienced a tragedy at the beginning of the last century. But this should not be a matter of law; it should be a matter for historians." Bayrou stressed.
