Vartan Oskanian and Peter Semneby discussed results of Belgrade talks over Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian in the framework of his Belgian visit had a meeting with EU's Special Representative in the South Caucasus Peter Semneby. At the meeting the two discussed regional issues and Armenian-Turkish relations. GUAM's initiative on including the resolution of "frozen conflicts" in the UN agenda was also touched on. In this connection the RA FM one more time confirmed Armenia's stance.



Peter Semneby also noted that the EU and European Commission give a great importance to the coming parliamentarian elections in Armenia, which must meet international standards. He called on the Armenian authorities to use for that purpose all means. In his part Vartan Oskanian assured the Special Representative that currently all conditions exist to hold free and fair elections. At the meeting the two sides also touched on issues concerning the fulfillment process of Armenia-EU program.



Vartan Oskanian and Peter Semneby exchanged opinions on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process in the result of the Belgrade meeting. Peter Semneby informed he is going to visit Baku to participate there in Media conference, in the framework of which he plans to meet with the Azeri foreign minister, the RA MFA Press Office reports.
