Azeri opposition newspaper staff expelled from premises

PanARMENIAN.Net - The editorial staff of Gundelik Azerbaijan and Real Azerbaijan opposition newspapers was expelled from the premises by initiative of the Azeri Ministry of Emergency Situations. "The MES representatives claim that the ground floor of the high-rise building, rented by Gundelik Azerbaijan and Real Azerbaijan, is in accident condition and needs repair. Logically, the residents of nearby flats should be evicted as well. However, nothing of the kind will happen. We were just thrown out of the premises we paid for till December 1, 2007. It's unclear yet, whether will get our money back. We do not know whether will be able to resume work," said Shahveled Chobanoglu, the editor-in-chief of Gundelik Azerbaijan.

The newspapers are going bring a suit against the Azeri Ministry of Emergency Situations. "We will fight for our rights," Chobanoglu said, Day.az reports.
