Armenia is a significant geopolitical factor

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Despite its small size, Armenia represents an important geopolitical factor. Its significance for Transcaucasia and Middle East incommensurably overweighs its role on the international arena," the Military Industrial Express (Voyenno-Promishlenny Kuryer) reports.

"Armenia doesn't give trouble to Russia. Moreover, it's actually our rear at the CIS southern borders. Moscow and Yerevan have formed an expansive basis for military-strategic cooperation with the main load to be carried by the Russian military base in Gyumri.

Armenia's distrust to Turkey is well known. Yerevan has always viewed Turkey as a menace. Armenia doesn't have diplomatic relations with Ankara, what results in economic troubles for other states bound with Armenia and Turkey by various projects. It especially affects major transport and energy projects.

The historical problem of the Armenian Genocide is one of the reasons of tension. Washington wants to strengthen military cooperation with Armenia at all costs," the edition says.
