Unbelievable that White House even slightly interested in attack on Iran

PanARMENIAN.Net - "I suppose the U.S. military staffs, like the staffs of other states, have elaborated action plans for emergency situations. The military have certainly worked out tactic plans in case of conflict with Iran. It's the duty of any army," said Jon Wolfsthal, International Security Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

According to him, it's unbelievable that the White House is even slightly interested in attack on Iran. "First, the U.S. leadership understands that a limited operation will not eliminate Iran's nuclear facilities and will not put off development of nuclear weapons in the country. Second, stabilization of Iraq is the supreme priority of the administration and an operation against Iran will frustrate fulfillment of this task. Third, with support of western states, Washington thinks that there is still a real possibility to resolve the problem via diplomatic measures capable to neutralizer the Iranian nuclear problem without large-scale hostilities," he said.

"Within next 15 months we will witness attempts to force the Iranian leaders to stop the nuclear program. However, the final decision will be made by the next U.S. President," Wolfsthal said.
