Vasily Istratov: Azerbaijan planning arms purchase from Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Azerbaijan plans to purchase arms from Russia. This issue was discussed during yesterday's visit of Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov to Azerbaijan," Vasily Istratov, Russia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan told reporters 28 November.



"The arms purchase will be carried out in the framework of technical and military cooperation between the two states," the Ambassador said. However, he refrained from furnishing any details of the transaction.



"Azerbaijan and Russia will develop cooperation regarding personnel training. The Russian Defense Ministry's training center is ready to comply fully with Azerbaijan's requests," the Ambassador said.



The Defense Ministers were satisfied with the talks held in Baku, the Ambassador resumed, Trend reports.
