  Turkey bombs northern Iraq againJanuary 12, 2008 - 15:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish warplanes again bombed suspected Kurdish rebel bases deep inside northern Iraq.Turkey blames the PPK rebels for penetrating in its territory and attacking troops, RBK reports. Turkish aircraft have struck northern Iraq three times during the past 10 days in a campaign that began with a larger bombing raid on December 16. Tensions have escalated in recent months after Turkish soldiers were killed by PKK fighters in a series of attacks. The Turkish military says it killed between 150 and 175 PKK members in its air attack on December 16.   Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot". The earthquake caused a temporary blackout, damaged many buildings and closed a number of rural roads.
