OPEC Fund for International Development to issue $14-million loan for Armenian rural area development

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Ambassador to Austria Ashot Hovakimian and Director-General of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), Mr. Suleiman J. Al-Herbish signed Tuesday an agreement, according to which the OFID will issue a $14-million loan to Armenia for rural area development, the RA MFA press office reported.



"This is our third joint program with Armenia and we hope for further efficient cooperation with the RA government," Mr. Al-Herbish said.



Thanking Mr. Al-Herbish for the assistance, Ambassador Hovakimian said that Armenia appreciates cooperation with the OPEC Fund for International Development.



He noted that the OFID Director-General can himself assess the results of the program during his visit to Armenia in 2009.
