RA MFA: Armenia to attend Caucasus Platform meeting in Ankara

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian delegation will take part in a meeting on Turkey-initiated Caucasus Stability and Cooperation Platform due in Ankara late January, Tigran Balayan, head of the RA Foreign Ministry's media relations division, told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.



Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia held their initial meeting last December. Presently, a draft agreement is being developed.



Following hostilities in South Ossetia, Ankara offered to form a Caucasus Stability and Cooperation Platform, which could unite Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.



RA President Serzh Sarsgyan welcomed the initiative as an attempt to create a favorable atmosphere in the region.
