Obama's new adviser stands for Armenian Genocide recognition

PanARMENIAN.Net - An expert who stands for recognition of the Armenian Genocide is reportedly a senior adviser to U.S. President Barack Obama.

Samantha Power, a Harvard professor will direct multilateral affairs for the National Security Council.

The appointment aroused concerns in Turkey, Hurriyet daily reports.

The daily said Obama may use the term 'genocide' in his April 24 statement or the Congress may pass a new legislation recognizing the Armenian Genocide, what will spark crisis between Ankara and Washington.

Obama pledged to recognize the Armenian Genocide during the election campaign. Vice President Joseph Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and CIA chief Leon Panetta are also known as supporters of the Genocide recognition.

With the appointment of Power, the new administration became the most pro-Armenian administration in the U.S. history, Hurriyet daily said.
