Russia to grant $500 million credit to Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia will accommodate Armenia with a $500 million stabilization loan to alleviate the negative impact of the global financial crisis on the republic's economy, Russia's Minister of Finance said.



"Russia will lend a helping hand to our neighbor states," Alexey Kudrin said when addressing British entrepreneurs in London.



The list of the countries eligible for the assistance also includes Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, which will receive $2 billion each.



Armenia requested for a crisis relief loan in late January. The amount was not announced.
