Armenian athlete sets up record national record, shows worst result at European Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian track and field athlet Haykanush Beklaryan finished her indoor performance in the 30th European Championship in Turin from March 6-8. Haykanush participated in "triple jump" discipline and with the worst result took the 20th place from among 21 participants, due to the absence of a Czech sportsman, Marina Shestakova. Nevertheless, Haykanush Beglaryan exceeded her previous individual record (12,51) in the European Championship by jumping 12,57 meters. The best result was performed by the representative of Slovakia, Maria Shestak- 14,52 meters. It should be mentioned that the finalists will be the sportsmen who were among the first ten participants in qualification round.



The qualification round of the competition among men in the discipline of "long jump" is to take place March 7 where another participant from Armenia, Arsen Sarkisyan will participate.
