Nelly Aghinyan lost her leadership in European Individual Women's Chess Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - The 3rd tour of European Individual Women's Chess Championship proved to be successful for Armenian players, bringing victories to Siranush Andreasyan, Anna Hayrapetyan and Lilit Mkrtchyan. Nelly Aghinyan and Lilit Galoyan made draws with Russia's Ekaterina Kovalevskaya and Unkaraine's Mariya Muzychuk. As a result, Nelly Aghinyan lost her leadership, and with 2.5 points to her score is ranked 7th to 27th along with Lilit Mkrtchyan. Thus, the Armenian champion Lilit Galoyan has gained 2 points; Siranush Andreasyan and Anna Hayrapetyan have scored 1.5 points each.



Today, in the 4th tour of European Individual Women's Chess Championship, Nelly Aghinyan will play against Georgia's Nino Khurtsidze. Lilit Galoyan will play with black pieces against Russia's Alina Balayan.



10th European Women Chess Championship is due on March 8 - March 19 and will be an 11 rounds Swiss tournament. European Individual Chess Championship closing ceremony will be held on Mar. 20.
