The Armenian MP forecasts lengthy protest actions in Georgia

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Currently the internal political situation is difficult in Georgia. Georgian opposition gave Mikhail Saakashvili some time. I believe protest actions in Tbilisi will go on for long," Javahk Expatriates' Community Leader, RA MP Shirak Torosyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

According to the parliamentarian, major protest actions in Georgia are closely related to August events in South Ossetia. This factor served as an additional stimulus to Georgian opposition.

''Samtskhe- Javaheti Armenians are rather inert, reluctant to participate in the country's domestic policy issues. Should the opposition come to power, we hope they'll be conducting a more reasonable policy towards national minorities of Georgia,'' Shirak Torosyan noted.

Yesterday thousands of opposition supporters went out to rally in front of Tbilisi Parliament House. Opposition demands for Georgian President Mikhail Sahakashvili's retirement and declared that protest actions will last for indefinite time period.
