NATO approves of steps towards normalization of Armenian -Turkish ties

PanARMENIAN.Net - RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero on Apr. 28 in Yerevan.

RA Foreign Minister dwelled upon Armenia's intention to strengthen and develop NATO cooperation within "Partnership in the name of peace" NATO Program.

Edward Nalbandian gave high assessment to Independent Procurement Alliance Program as an effective model of cooperation. RA FM noted that Armenia will continue collaborating with NATO in peacemaking missions, struggle against international terrorism, and elimination of natural disaster consequences.

In his turn, Claudio Bisogniero emphasized that NATO highly assesses NATO-Armenia partnership within 2006-2008 Independent Procurement Alliance Program framework. NATO representative expressed a hope that 2009-2010 IPAP Program will be implemented successfully. Claudio Bisogniero briefed RA FM about NATO Summit results and expressed his satisfaction with progress in Armenian Turkish negotiations, RA MFA Press Service reported.
