Council of Russia - NATO conference was held in Brussels

PanARMENIAN.Net - Current meeting within Council framework has shown that leaders of the block are ready to establish contacts, Russia's permanent representative in NATO, Smitri Rogozin said. He noted that the council conference gave positive results.



"Those skeptical about collaboration with the Alliance turned out to be in minority. We agreed that further contact on an ambassadorial level will set a foundation for resumption of meetings between foreign ministers. Our NATO colleagues accepted Russia's logics which consisted in the following: the military can't collaborate without the green light, a political signal to be given at the meeting of Foreign affairs ministers, " the Russian representative noted.



According to him the discussion mainly focused on joint work over the document which will impart a new political quality to NATO-Russia council. The document aims at perfection of procedures as well as work technology at ambassadorial level. We aim to create a flexible structure of the Council in charge of strategic security issues.
