Armenia, Syria geographically favorable for oil and gas transit

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenians in Syria are full-fledged citizens of the country, Syrian President said.



"We should use this potential for development of relations between our states," Bashar Al-Assad said opening Armenian-Syrian business forum in Yerevan today.



He said relevant legal basis should be formed and long-term projects implemented to further economic cooperation.



"In a meeting with the Armenian President, we also referred to the Armenian-Turkish relations, normalization of which will be favorable for the entire region. Besides, construction of Armenia-Iran railroad will offer an outlet to the Persian Gulf and help development of relations with Arab world," Mr. Al-Assad said.



Armenia and Syria are geographically favorable for oil and gas transit, so all regional conflicts should be resolved peacefully to secure entrepreneurship between the countries," he said.



The Syrian President also said that possibilities to simplify visa system for businessmen and tourists were discussed.
