The statement emphasized that lawsuit monitoring and case-related documents' study proves Georgian authorities repeatedly violated Vahagn Chakhalyan's rights for fair trial. "By convicting Vahagn Chakhalyan, Georgian authorities aim to hamper Samtskhe -Javakheti Armenians' further attempts at defending their human rights," the statement stressed. On September 5, the Council made French lawyer Raffi-Philippe Kalfayan eligible to monitor legal proceedings over Vahagn Chakhalyan in Tbilisi.
