Vyacheslav Kovalenko: Armenia been in the centre of world community attention

PanARMENIAN.Net - November 3, Ambassador of Russia in Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko , visited the Institute of Political Studies at the Office of RA President. During the meeting Russia's diplomat told about himself and his professional activities, immediate work plans, shared his vision of the current situation in the republic and got familiar with activities of the Institute.

Current state and future of Russian-Armenian cooperation, process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and its possible consequences in the region, current state of Russian-Georgian ties were discussed.

According to rhe ambassador, recently Armenia has been in the centre of international community's attention for two reasons: the armed attack of Georgia on South Ossetia in August last year and the start of of normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations.



Vyacheslav Kovalenko said that Russia sincerely welcomes the positive shifts in contacts between Armenia and Turkey. He mentioned that Russia aims to raise the level of strategic partnership between the two countries. An agreement was reached, that the Russian Embassy will help the Institute of Political Studies to establish cooperation with Russia's institutions, press office of the Embassy of Russia in Armenia reports.
