Outraged Azeri MPs issue address to U.S. President and Congress

PanARMENIAN.Net - Outraged by the U.S. decision to allocate $8 million to Nagorno Karabakh, Azerbaijani parliament members issued an address to the U.S. President and Congress. The MPs called on Mr. Obama "to impose veto on the decision".



The U.S. House and Senate agreed upon a far-reaching Fiscal Year 2010 spending measure that includes a $41 million economic aid package for Armenia, $8 million for "programs and activities" in Karabakh. Parity in military aid to Armenia and Azerbaijan was also maintained.

Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive.
In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million).
The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot".
The earthquake caused a temporary blackout, damaged many buildings and closed a number of rural roads.
