Singapore ready to host Youth Olympic GamesMarch 30, 2010 - 14:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Singapore will host the inaugural Summer Youth Olympic Games from August 15- to 26.On March 22-25, a seminar-council of high commissioners of National Olympic Committees took place in Singapore, the Armenian National Olympic Committee's press service told PanARMENIAN.Net Vice-President of the Armenian National Olympic Committee Derenik Gabriyelyan represented Armenia in Singapore. Organizers of the Games have not constructed new sport complexes, as there are enough sports facilities in Singapore and the city is ready to host guests. The opening ceremony of the Games will take place on August 14. Tickets' prices will vary from $30-200. Two Armenian weightlifters and a judoist have already gained the right to participate in the Olympic Games. But qualification competitions are still under way. 26 sports are included in the Olympic Games program, the idea of the Games belonging to President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge. Their purpose is to unite young sportsmen from all over the world.
