EU won't finance new ANPP construction

PanARMENIAN.Net - "The European Union doesn't finance projects implemented by two states. Armenia intends to build a new NPP jointly with Russia. That is why the EU will not finance the construction," European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner told a news conference in Yerevan.

"The Metsamor NPP is outdated and needs to be closed. We have allocated 30 million euro to ensure the plant's security. But it must be closed," she said.
