Aznavour, Jigarkhanyan, Bitov, Spivakov receive Karot awardMay 16, 2008 - 15:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The first-ever Karot award ceremony took place in the State Kremlin Palace in the framework Days of Armenian Culture in Moscow festival. French singer of Armenian origin Charles Aznavour, actor Armen Jigarkhanyan, writer Andrey Bitov and conductor of the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra Vladimir Spivakov received the award for their contribution to development of Armenian culture and art. The renowned French singer could not attend the ceremony. The statuette in form of a vine will be handed to him later, in the Russian Embassy in Paris. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
