The State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre at the Armenian government has presented the current situation in the RA real estate market, as well as forecasts for the year. The Committee’s specialists predict some activation in the Armenian real estate market but decrease in prices is unlikely in the near future.

No matter what the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the interested parties say about settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, we must admit that the process is frozen, if not permanently, then at least for the following five years. The point is not the willingness or unwillingness to regulate the conflict, i.e. determine the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, but the growing uncertainty of Baku. No statements calculated for the Azerbaijani or the Armenian audience produced the effect they were intended to.

When in China, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with executive director of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd and President of Zhong Xing Telecommunication Equipment Company Limited (ZTE) to discuss prospects of cooperation in production of equipment, e-governance and development of telecommunication systems. A memorandum of cooperation was signed with Huawei.

During the past week, Armenia’s cultural life was influenced by the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Famous cultural workers were speculating whether the art can really promote international recognition of the first Genocide of the 20th century.

Darchinyan-Donaire rematch negotiations collapse

Boxing: Elias Nassar, manager of WBC/WBA super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan stated that negotiations for rematch with Nonito Donaire have collapsed. Nassar said the Donaire camp have failed to sign the contract after six weeks and they are now back to square one. Vic Darchinyan also stated he is disappointed in Nonito Donaire’s failure to sign the contract. “We signed the deal two days into talks,” said Nassar. “We were there waiting for Donaire to make up his mind on what he wanted to do. It’s easy to point the finger at who didn’t want the fight. It’s the party who doesn’t sign a contract.”

The name given her by the parents and godfather – Haykanush – had been forgotten. Over 70 years out of 95 she was known as Lesko.

This photograph taken in Yerevan in 1926 tells the story of an Armenian family from Van villayet of the Ottoman Empire. Aram O. Manukyan (in the center), Haykanush (left to him), Mariam (right to him), their daughters Arshaluys and Mayranush… Three years later, third daughter Siranush was born.
