Tennis:Former Wimbledon finalist and Tennis Masters Cup champion, David Nalbandian lost to Spaniard Fernando Verdasco 5-7 and 1-6 in the AGEON Championship third round at The Queen’s Club in London. Nalbandian who entered the tournament after obtaining a wildcard invitation, had wins over Ilia Marchenko and Ilia Bozoljac in the previous rounds. Even though the Argentine looks in better shape than he has for some time, his physique as sleek as his game, he couldn’t take a hold on Verdasco

Megerditch Tarakdjian – a doctor and an artist

After becoming a successful practitioner of family medicine, did Tarakdjian again find time to return to his love of painting and sculpting.

Dr. Megerditch Tarakdjian, of Armenian descent, was born in Syria and has been living in Montreal since 1982. At a very young age he developed a passion for painting and went on to study at the Saryan Academy of Arts in Aleppo, Syria. However, his parents did not believe he could earn a living as an artist and persuaded him to instead pursue a career in science.

Currently import to Armenia exceeds export by 20-25%, and this trend has been maintained for the past 5-6 years. At that, 80% of exported products from Armenia are represented by 15 goods, including output of the mining industry, brandy, gold, etc. As for import, 25 goods make around 50% of imported products to the country.

The opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) openly announced the start of political dialogue with the authorities during the May 31 rally in Liberty Square. The ANC has already formed the delegation to negotiate with the country’s leadership, mentioning snap elections and the main issue on the agenda. The authorities, on the contrary, insist that they are planning to discuss social and economic problems but by no means any possibility of extraordinary elections.

Almost all museums in Yerevan lack funds and attention
There are over 30 museums in Yerevan, most of them being under guardianship of the Armenian Ministry of Culture and National Academy of Sciences and almost all of them lacking funds and attention. Low salaries force employees quit.
