Marketing Bible author to visit Armenia Nov 9 July 14, 2011 - 16:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - By the initiative of Ministry of Economy of Armenia and Armenian Association of Marketing, world renowned Marketing Guru Philip Kotler will visit Armenia on November 9, according to first Deputy Minister of Economy Karine Minasyan. “The Ministry will implement a concept, aimed to stimulate export; numerous meetings with Armenian manufacturers showed that one of the main problems in business is weak marketing and management,” Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan. The Deputy Minister said that taking advantage of this, 500 specialists from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Iran, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Poland, Austria, Finland and other countries will visit Armenia in autumn, and for a while our country will turn into international marketing center. In turn, Director of Kotler Impact company Fagim Kibrian noted that Kotler preferred to visit Armenia first and then to travel to Russia and other countries to exchange his experience in marketing field. Kibrian conveyed SMS message of Kotler saying that he is looking forward to his first visit to Armenia. “I would like to learn how the economy operates and what are the main challenges. Like every other country, Armenia needs to develop its own vision of its economic fit into the rest of Europe and the world,” the message says. As the Chair of Armenian Association of Marketing Aram Navasardyan said, special events must be arranged before arrival of the specialist, including talk-shows, etc. to reveal urgent problems. Philip Kotler (born 27 May 1931 in Chicago) is the S.C. Johnson & Son Distinguished Professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Professor Kotler's book, Marketing Management, is the world's most widely used graduate level textbook in marketing. His other textbooks include Principles of Marketing and Marketing: An Introduction and they are also widely used around the world. Kotler developed new concepts in marketing including demarketing, megamarketing, turbomarketing and synchromarketing. He believes that marketing theory needs to go beyond price theory and incorporate the dynamics of innovation, distribution and promotion systems into analyzing, explaining and predicting economic outcomes.
