GM Hrant Melkumyan gains 6th place at Bulgaria’s Grand Europe Chess Open

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Hrant Melkumyan took the 6th place at 1st Grand Europe Chess Open Tournaments in Golden Sands, Bulgaria, having gained 7 points out of 9 possible.

Lu Shanglei (China) won the tournament gold with 7,5 points.

Armenia’s Tigran Petrosian earned 6,5 points to gain 12th place, Avetik Grigoryan earned the same number of points to come 19th. Vladimir Akopian, Hovhannes Gabuzyan, Karen Grigoryan and Hrair Simonian gained 25th, 31st, 41st and 43rd places respectively, with 224 chess players participating in the tournament.
