Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian suffered his first defeat by Fabiano Caruana in round 9 of Bilbao Chess Masters Final 2012.

Caruana leads the tournament with 16 points. Magnus Carlsen (Norway) comes 2nd with 16 points, while Aronian is 3rd with 10 points.
