US BELIEVES DIFFERENT PROPOSALS BY ARMENIA AND TURKEY CAN BE CONSIDERED TOGETHER

PanARMENIAN.Net - The US Administration has a positive attitude toward the possible meeting of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Armenian President Robert Kocharian within the Council of Europe summit in Warsaw May 16-17 and believes that different proposals of the parties can be considered together. This was stated by US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Laura Kennedy within a visit to Turkey. In the course of the meeting with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Tuygan and Secretary General of the National Security Council Yigit Alpogan Laura Kennedy also insisted on "opening of the borders" with Armenia. It should be noted that to lift the blockade of the border and normalize relations Ankara demands that Yerevan make considerable concessions in the Karabakh settlement, refuse from the campaign aiming at international recognition of the Amrenian Genocide. In its turn Armenia suggests rapprochement with Turkey without any preconditions, Regnum news agency reported.
