Syria’s state-run newspaper journalist killed

PanARMENIAN.Net - A journalist of Syria’s state-run newspaper was killed on Tuesday, Dec 4 by armed groups while going to work, official news agency SANA reported.

Naji Asaad was killed in the Damascus’ district of Tadamun while en-route to the Tishreen newspaper headquarters, SANA said.

Many Syrian journalists were killed during Syria’s 20-month revolt against President Bashar al-Assad. Last month, Basel Tawfiq Yussif, a journalist of Syria’s state TV was killed by the armed rebels.

The anti-regime forces have been targeting pro-government figures, either by killing or kidnapping them.
