Armenia to protest IOC decision at youth wrestling championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - IOC Executive Board’s recommendation to remove wrestling from among the core sports for the 2020 Olympic Games has become a subject of heated discussions.

In an attempt to show disapproval of the IOC recommendation, a protest action was staged in Tehran, which recently hosted Greco roman Wrestling World Cup.

In conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, chief coach of Armenia's Greco-Roman wrestling team Levon Julfalakyan said the teams presented posters in protest of IOC decision.

“I think our protests will finally yield good results and wrestling will remain in Olympic program. Armenian youth championship will be held soon to feature complaints of IOC decision,” Julfalakyan said.
