Heavy snowstorm delays Candidates Tournament participants

PanARMENIAN.Net - Freezing conditions are continuing to disrupt transport in Europe, after a severe snowstorm struck France, Belgium, Germany and the UK.

Many participants of the Candidates Tournament failed to make it to London in time.

Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian left for the British capital on March 11. The grandmaster will face off against Norway’s Magnus Carlsen in round 1.

The World Chess Candidates Tournament is due March 14, with round 1 to start the next day.
