Armenian Permanent Representative to Represent CE Committee of Ministers at Intercultural Dialogue ConferenceOctober 15, 2005 - 14:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe (CE) Christian Ter-Stepanian will represent the CE Committee of Ministers at Intercultural Dialogue conference. The respective decision was passed at the Committee session the other day, reported the Press Service of the Armenian MFA. The conference will be held October 27-28 in Faro Portuguese city within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the passage of the European Cultural Convention. The conference goal is to form political approaches, based on which the CE will work out its strategy of development of intercultural dialogue in the European community, as well as between Europe and the rest of the world. Besides, in the course of the conference it is planned to specify aspects of actions to implement that strategy via inter-governmental cooperation of countries that have joined the European Cultural Convention. The CE is trying for the first time to work out exact mechanisms to specify intercultural dialogue. A number of documents will be signed for that. These aim at strengthening and specifying the intercultural dialogue. Besides, according to a decision passed by the CE Committee of Ministers the Framework Convention on Cultural Heritage Values will be open to signing in Faro.
