  Turkish and Azeri FMs Discussed Karabakh SettlementOctober 17, 2005 - 14:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Abdullah Gul and Elmar Mammadyarov met in Istanbul to discuss the Azeri-Turkish relations. Abdullah Gul informed his Azeri counterpart of the EU-Turkey talks. In his turn Elmar Mammadyarov presented the pre-election situation in Azerbaijan. Besides, the parties discussed the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement and a number of economic issues including the schedule of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline construction.  Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot".
