Int'l organizations to help tackle work migration issues in ArmeniaApril 3, 2013 - 12:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan hosted a presentation of a 3-year program on Social Response to Work Migration in Armenia, initiated by the EU Mission in Armenia, UNICEF, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and Territorial Administration Ministry. The 1 million euro program aims to mitigate social consequences of the work migration on Armenian families and communities. The program will be implemented in the provinces of Lori, Tavush, Shirak and Gegharkunik to promote a decrease in the number of work migrants and diminish the communities’ social vulnerability. As the head of the EU Delegation of Armenia Traian Hristea noted at the event, the program will allow for stimulation of cyclic migration while curbing illegal migration, also providing integration of returning migrants.
