Aronian to face Anand in Norway Chess 2013 round 1

PanARMENIAN.Net - Norway Chess 2013 tournament will kick off in Stavanger on May 8, with 9 super grandmasters and Jon Ludvig Hammer to participate in it.

Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian will face off against India’s Viswanathan Anand in the first round.

The tournament is arranged by the foundation Norway Chess, with economic support from local businesses and municipalities and the Rogaland county. The cost of the arrangement is predicted to be about 5 million Norwegian kroner (approximately 672,000 euro), about half of it for prizes to the participants. The organizers hope to make the tournament a yearly event.
