  Chair of Union of Romanian Armenians May Become Romania Representative to EurocommissionOctober 26, 2006 - 15:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Romanian PM Calin Popescu-Tariceanu has put forward the candidacy of the Chair of Union of Romanian Armenians Varuzhan Voskanyan as European Commissioner representing Romania. Voskanyan's candidacy is expected to be discussed in Strasbourg at a joint session of the chair and head of political factions of the European Parliament. The candidate, to be officially presented by European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, is expected to pass hearing procedure at the European Parliament on November 27-29. January 2007 Romania will officially join the EU, reports RIA Novosti.
