Azeri Parliament Refused to Discuss Details on Karabakh Negotiations
The chairmanship of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis did not support opposition's offer to organize a closed session for discussion of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict negotiations details. "We still have hopes to reach results during the talks. The negotiations are closed, but if there was no hope to reach results, it would be declared publicly," responded Oktay Asadov, the speaker of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan to opposition's offer during the Parliamentary session on Friday. He grounded his opinion with the absence of necessity to discuss the settlement problem within the walls of Parliament.

Samed Seidov, the head of the PACE Azeri delegation, supported Oktay Asadov. "We all are well aware, that the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is not a subject of discussions. The Azeri refugees and displaced persons must return to their lands, the Armenian armed forces must withdraw from Azeri territories and the status of the Nagorno Karabakh must be settled within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," he stated. On his opinion, in this stage the publication of negotiation details 'can create problems'. Besides, the ruling party refused to examine opposition's offer to discuss the results of the referendum in Nagorno Karabakh, since on Asadov's opinion, the Azeri FM made a correspondent statement, Day.az reports.
