Armenia, Switzerland ink visa facilitation agreement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Foreign Minister Edward ‎Nalbandian met Monday, February 29 with his Swiss counterpart Didier ‪Burkhalter in Geneva.

At the meeting, Nalbandian commended the dynamically developing Armenian-Swiss relations and continuous high-level dialogue.

Burkhalter, in turn, stressed the importance of the development of friendly ties with Armenia.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues, including collaboration in the sector of trade and economy, cultural and inter-parliamentary ties, as well as cooperation within international organizations.

Also, the Foreign Ministers discussed pressing regional and international issues, expressing hope that the current ceasefire in Syria would pave the way for the re-establishment of peace and stability in the country.

Nalbandian briefed his Swiss counterpart on the Karabakh negotiation process within the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairmanship for an exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict.

Towards the end of the meeting, the officials signed an agreement on the facilitation visa regime between the two countries.
