U.S. delegation to participate in Armenia Independence Day events

PanARMENIAN.Net - A Unites States delegation will participate in celebrations marking 25 years since Armenia’s independence on Wednesday, September 21, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Armenia’s acting Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan on Tuesday met with the Deputy Commanding General for Army National Guard of U.S. Army Europe, Major General John Gronski, and the Adjutant General of Kansas, U.S, Major General Lee Tafanelli.

At the meeting, the parties cited the presence of expert groups of U.S. Army in Armenia as a sign of productive cooperation.

Armenia’s collaboration with Kansas National Guard and U.S. Army Europe is conducted on multiple directions: peacekeeping missions under UN auspices, training of personnel for detection and diffusion of improvised explosive devices for international missions, development and international certification of the field hospital providing 2nd level medical aid, formation of competent sergeant staff, organization of joint international trainings among other things.

The delegation is set to take part in Armenia’s Independence Day events.
