Competing in the women's 75kg weight class, Poghosyan lifted a total of 218kg above her head to claim the title of vice-champion. Another of Armenia's lifters, 2014 Summer Youth Olympic champion Hakob Mkrtchyan managed to secure a gold medal only in the clean and jerk competition of men's under-20 event. Samvel Gasparyan from the same age group took the third spot in men's 94kg weight class, securing bronze for Armenia. Earlier,an excellent performance by young lifter Davit Hovhannisyan earned him a gold medal at the European Under-20 Junior Championships.
