U.S. not going to dispute Russia's interests in South Caucasus

PanARMENIAN.Net - The United States and Azerbaijan have the possibility to establish a trilateral strategic partnership. However, the U.S. doesn't intend to dispute Russia's interests in the South Caucasus, said Daniel Fried, Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.

Russia will remain the leading factor in the South Caucasus, he added

"It would be unwise to stand against Russia. We eye the region as an open space for development of cooperation with Middle Asia and South Caucasus. The United States, Russia and Azerbaijan can establish trilateral partnership beneficial for all of us and the entire region," Mr Fried said, APA reports.
