Aronian retains lead in FIDE Grand Prix Berlin

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster, world No 4 Levon Aronian has retained his lead at the current Grand Prix series in Berlin, alongside Alexandr Predke and Nikita Vitiugov, the FIDE website reveals.

The tournament will qualify two winners for the Candidates at Madrid in June

In the final leg of the event, Aronian, who now represents the United States, has the edge in Pool A where he meets Hikaru Nakamura and the Russians Grigoriy Oparin and Andrey Esipenko.
