Mirzoyan: Strengthening of democracy among Armenia's prioritiesMay 6, 2022 - 17:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has said that strengthening of democracy is among the Armenian government's priorities. Mirzoyan made the remarks during a meeting in Washington with the Regional Program Director of Eurasia of the International Republican Institute Stephen Nix on Thursday, May 5. The Armenian foreign policy chief also highlighted the importance of the programs implemented by the International Republican Institute in Armenia, which aim to support the reform agenda in various spheres of public administration. Nix noted that the International Republican Institute will continue its work aimed at supporting democratic institutions and developing the capacities of Armenia. Mirzoyan stressed that among of the priorities of the government of Armenia are the strengthening of democracy and the rule of law, and the continuous fight against corruption. He noted that Armenia is undertaking consistent steps to increase the transparency, accountability and inclusive development of human rights based on the activities of state bodies.
