Armenian athletes won 306 medals throughout 2022, official says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has won 306 medals throughout 2022, including 104 gold ones – 30% more than the all-time best result of 222 medals in 2019, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Karen Giloyan said

“The numbers speak for the participation of athletes in international tournaments. Sport is very measurable: if there is a medal, there is a result,” Giloyan said.

According to him, noted that huge construction works have been carried out this year and are continuing.

“There was a great desire to put the Artashat athletics stadium into operation this year, but there were problems and the international representatives did not accept it. The developers have promised that the stadium will be ready by April,” Giloyan said.

“The construction works of the Artur Aleksanyan Sports School are proceeding with great speed, and we are planning to hold an international tournament in that sports school. Simon Martirosyan's weightlifting school will be ready in the next two months. Boxing sports schools named after Arthur Abraham and Vik Darchinyan will also be ready in the coming years.”
