Azeri wrestler loses to Armenian rival, hits him, gets himself disqualified

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Azerbaijani athlete who hit Armenia’s Karapet Manvelyan after the latter won gold at the U23 European Wrestling Championships has been disqualified, the Armenian Wrestling Federation reports.

After the final bout of the 55 kg weight category, Manvelyan approached Rahim Hasanov to shake his hand but the Azerbaijani sportsman hit him in the head instead.

The International Wrestling Federation immediately disqualified Hasanov.
