10 Turkish, two Azerbaijani nationals applied for asylum in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - 440 people from 25 countries, including 10 Turkish and two Azerbaijani nationals, applied for asylum in Armenia in the first half of 2023, according to data provided by the country’s Interior Ministry.

Most of the new applicants – 131 in total – were Iraqi nationals, followed by 115 Ukrainian, 41 Iranian, 39 Egyptian and 18 Syrian citizens.

The applications of one Azerbaijani citizen and two Turkish ones were terminated, while another one was rejected.

Of the 440 applicants, Armenia granted asylum to 179 people
