Azerbaijan frustrates recognition of Kosovo by OIC

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan has blocked the draft bill on recognition of Kosovo at the 36th session of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

Arab press says Azerbaijan has also opposed accession of Kosovo to the International Monetary Fund. Serbia welcomed this position, 1news.az reported.

Kosovo has been recognized by 60 countries, including 57 OIC members. The current draft was introduced by Saudi Arabia, the second state after UAE, which recognized independence of Kosovo.

Serbian authorities fear that Saudi Arabia may provoke a new wave of Kosovo's recognition by the Arab community.
